Coal Cookies! What could be better to slip into a stocking for Christmas or to give as a treat to friends. (Add these printable tags to them so they know what they are getting.) Even if they haven't been Naught, Naughty, Naughty they will enjoy the sweet taste of this treat made from Oreo Cookies.
This is a fast and easy last minute stocking stuffer or a tiny gift that can stand alone or be added to something else.
You just need three simple ingredients to make these bar cookies and no baking.
Prepare a buttered 8 x 8 pan.
Grind up the Oreo cookies in a food processor or in small amounts in a blender. If you don't have either of these machines then place the cookies in a plastic freezer bag and crush with a rolling pin.
Melt the butter in a large pot on a very low heat, when butter is melted start adding the marshmallows and raise the heat to a medium level. Do not leave the pot and stir constantly until all the marshmallows are melted.
When the marshmallows are all melted add the cookie crumbs to it. Working quickly put the mixture into the buttered pan to set.
Let the cookies set for about 20 minutes and while they are still pliable cut them into 9 squares. With clean hands mold the squares so they have rounded corners and place these into the refrigerator to become a bit more firm. These are a soft, sticky cookie that is chewy to eat.
Wrap each one individually with cling wrap so the seam of the cling wrap is on the bottom unseen and then wrap a red ribbon around then present style. Attach this tag that you can print off
Coal Because You've Been Naughty, Naughty, Naughty and you are all set.
A sweet lump of coal to give to someone who you think is naughty.
Piled high in a dish to give out to guests or placed in stockings these are a fun little treat.
You can make them several days before hand as long as you make sure that they are very well wrapped in the cling wrap.
Good girls and boys or bad girls and boys all deserve to enjoy these coal cookies!
