Lily of the Valley were the favorite flowers of Victorian brides and keeping with tradition Princess Kate had them in her wedding bouquet.  In floral legend Lily of the Valley signifies the return of happiness and it is the birth flower for the month of May.

It is a tradition in France that they are sold on the first of May as they are regarded as a good luck charm and a harbinger of happiness.

It is important that you follow the instructions that are printed on the Pdf and first score the card before you cut it. (Scoring is pressing a dull edge of a knife, like the back of a butter knife, along the line where the card will be folded. The score line bruises the paper so it will easily fold on that line.)

A scored line will give a neat clean fold.

Lily of the Valley are a low to the ground fast spreading perennial. I have a patch in the corner of my yard and keep my eye on it so it doesn't spread into the rest of my garden.

Since I love having it in the house I find that if I pull up every second plant when they bloom I have enough flowers to make arrangements with and I keep the bed in check so it doesn't get out of hand. While I love the scent I find it too overpowering to have on my bedside table but it is just perfect to have in the bathroom.

I also love putting an arrangement of Lily of the Valley in the hallway as the scent wafts through the house and reminds me that spring is now arrived.
