A free printable lobster place card is perfect for any seafood feast! Even if you are not serving lobster these are great place cards to have out with any sort of shell fish.
One of my fondest memories is my mother's love of all things seafood and shrimp, lobster and crab where great treats in our home.
Many people like to have lobster cook outs with a huge pot of lobsters and lots of family and friends. Lobster are in caught year round in the US but the best lobster are those caught between mid September and late November. An inside lobster party can be a bit more sophisticated than one done outside in the summer and these place cards are perfect for that.
While you don't need a collection of seafood dishes to make a great feast they are fun to collect. Easy to find at flea markets and antique malls, salt and pepper shakers, dishes and platters in various shell fish designs are readily available.
These crab salt and pepper shakers are kitschy and fun and one of my favorites. I also have a pair of lobster salt and pepper shakers as well.
A bright cheery lobster jug is great for either cold water or maybe something a bit stronger. Cocktails can be mixed up in large batches.
A large lobster plate can be used for discarded shells.
All of my place cards look best if they are printed on card stock. It gives them the stiffness that they need to stand and not get blown over by the slightest breeze. While you could print these out on regular printer paper they will not be very sturdy.
Make sure that you score across the place cards to give them the fold line that they need before you cut them from the card stock.
Even if you don't have any vintage lobster or shell fish dishes you can dress up your table easily for your lobster feast.
A stripped green and white table cloth looks fresh and clean and layering red dishes brings out the color of the red in the place card.
I bought a set of 4 lobster embroidered dish towels years ago that I use as napkins at the table. You can get very messy eating lobster. Since I only have 4 of these I alternate them with red and white checked dishtowel/napkins to continue the color theme.
Since there is so much going on with the table your dishes don't have to be very ornate. A plain large green plate works well as a charger with a plain white plate on top and a red bowl with the napkin underneath it.
Enjoy a lobster feast with friends!
