The later into the summer the deeper the sale prices will be but for now sales are at 25% to 50% off on such items as swimming pool toys, water guns, bathing suits, and flip flops.
Big box stores and grocery stores need to clear the aisles to bring in fall items and back to school supplies for August.
These items are great to buy and hold for next summer or if you have late spring birthdays next year, buy such things as mini water guns that are great as party favors and to slip into loot bags. Flip flops are great to toss into your suitcase on vacation to wear on beaches and in showers. If you are planning a spa party for your brides maids or just a girls spa party pick up flip flops in girly colors for them to wear after their pedicures. Nail polish goes on sale through out the summer so keep your eyes open for fun colors.
If your children are taking swimming lessons in the winter buy a size larger than they need now on sale. This might be the time to buy yourself a really good quality swim suit. Flimsy swim suit material barely lasts a season and doesn't hold in everything like it should. A good swim suit should make you look as if you have lost 10 pounds.

Take the time to visit farmers markets and pick your own farms for the best and freshest produce you will be able to buy. Great for freezing. They often have great recipe suggestions for the produce they are selling so look for these.
The heat of the summer is sometimes the best time to seek out leather outlet stores. They are ready to slash their prices at a time of year that most people are not thinking of buying good quality leather jackets, coats or purses.
Garage sales are going strong so this is a great time to upgrade items that you might need for a fraction of the cost you would pay in the stores. Make a practical list of things you might need to replace and keep your eye out for them.
Of course you will be looking for gifts as well during garage sales, take your gift list with you to make sure you don't forget anyone.
Remember that most of what does not get sold at garage sales ends up at thrift stores so keep checking them for great deals as well.
