Out with the old and in with the new! There is no better way to celebrate the old year and look forward to the New Year than having a New Years Eve party!
You want it to be a bash but you also don't want to break the proverbial piggy bank. How do you have an amazing party that everyone will remember and that won't cost you a fortune?
Here is a list of 10 ideas that will make your party to the talk of the town the next day.
2. Make your party more than just a drink fest. Have something planned for entertainment. If the weather is agreeable you could have a skating party outside with everyone coming back to your house for midnight.
3.Decorate with balloons, they are cheap and cheerful and everyone knows that they make a party atmosphere. Stick with sophisticated colors like pearl white, silver and black. Party supply stores can sometimes be the most expensive places to buy balloons. Check on-line to find suppliers that will ship to you.
4. Know how to open a bottle of Champagne and teach your guests how to do it. This could be one of your themes of the night. If you have a knack for patter then make it into a event where you gather everyone around. 5. Make sure that there is music. Even better is you could grab a few people together for a house band. Make sure that you have music people like to dance to. It would be great to make a special CD of favorite hits over the last 10 years (or more if this is an older crowd).
6. Know the words to Auld Lang Sigh and print them out on a huge poster that you can hang on a wall so everyone will be able to sing along at mid-night.
7. Are party hats and noise makers childish? Of course they are, that is why we love them. Buy some standard ones and have some extra special ones on hand. Make your guests do challenges or answer quiz questions in order to wear the best ones.
8. Have plenty of bread based nibbles. It will fill people up in case they have been indulging in a little bit too much cheer. You can ask your guest to contribute with nibbles.
9.Have several different types of nonalcoholic beverages around. Include water, sparkling water, pops and juices. Many people don't want to drink very much on New Years Eve because they don't want to start the new year off with a hang over.
10. If some one has too much to drink then make sure that you have someplace for them to crash for the night. In many areas as a host you are liable for your guests actions if they drink and drive and get into an accident. If they drink a great deal, the alcohol will not be out of their system in the morning, it will take several more hours for them to be legal for driving.
Simple things will make your New Years party a hit and that won't cost you much at all. So have a party and enjoy!
