Coal Cookie for ChristmasCoal Cookies!  What could be better to slip into a stocking for Christmas or to give as a treat to friends.

(Add these printable tags to them so they know what they are getting.)

Even if they haven't been Naught, Naughty, Naughty they will enjoy the sweet taste of this treat made from Oreo Cookies.

This is a fast and easy last minute stocking stuffer or a tiny gift that can stand alone or be added to something else.
Coal Cookie recipeYou just need three simple ingredients to make these bar cookies and no baking.

1 - 16 oz. package of Oreo Cookies (350 gr. package or 30 cookies)

4 Cups of Large Marshmallows well packed
(about 38 to 40 marshmallows depending on the brand you use).

1/4 Cup of Butter.

Prepare a buttered 8 x 8 pan.

Grind up the Oreo cookies in a food processor or in small amounts in a blender. If you don't have either of these machines then place the cookies in a plastic freezer bag and crush with a rolling pin.

Melt the butter in a large pot on a very low heat, when butter is melted start adding the marshmallows and raise the heat to a medium level. Do not leave the pot and stir constantly until all the marshmallows are melted.

When the marshmallows are all melted add the cookie crumbs to it. Working quickly put the mixture into the buttered pan to set.

molding coal cookies
Let the cookies set for about 20 minutes and while they are still pliable cut them into 9 squares. With clean hands mold the squares so they have rounded corners and place these into the refrigerator to become a bit more firm. These are a soft, sticky cookie that is chewy to eat.

Seriously adorable! I love this. I am sharing on Tickled Pink features later and on Facebook!

Your link-up caught my eye over at Rae-Gun Ramblings. I absolutely LOVE this idea. The recipe is easy and the result is charming (and delicious too). I shared a link with my readers on FB and have pinned and stumbled your post as well.

I don't normally go recruiting for participants to my own linky, but your post has clearly piqued my enthusiasm. If you have the time and the inclination, I'd love to have you share your post at my party at Rook No. 17.

I'm so thrilled that you linked up to "A Little Birdie Told Me..."! Not surprisingly, you're one of tomorrow's features!
