These antique post cards are so unique to our eyes now because of the obvious hand writing on them. All the lettering was painstakingly done to be as decorative and neat as possible.
This set of cards were produced between 1905 and 1913. You can use these in displays, packaging, to make tags and numerous other ideas.
Here are 5 of my favorite antique Christmas postcards from my own collection starting with
Christmas Greeting.pdf show above.
( The More Style Than Cash will NOT appear on your PDF)
This Heart and Holly Christmas Postcard.pdf is one of my favorite because not only it is unusual to see a heart and holly on a Christmas postcard but the use of such a vivid blue for a Christmas card.
This Best Christmas Wishes.pdf is a 1911 postcard that has a small portrait of Santa Claus which makes it charming for me. This one I am going to use as tags on the gift baskets that I am giving.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas.pdf was sent in 1913 and has it's stamp placed on upside down. When I first saw this I thought some one had just been in a hurry but latter I found out that during the Victorian times people started to use the placement of stamps as secret codes. An upside down stamp would mean "I love you".
Finally this postcard Good Luck.pdf. Sent on December 23rd 1908 it probably was meant more as a New Year's Greeting but I am including it here as I love the way it looks and the red bow is so festive.
