The spray bottle that we use for ironing cracked the other day and I headed off to the recycle bin to see if I could find another bottle that would fit the spray top. Much to our amusement the Perrier bottle we had in there was a perfect fit.
It adds a certain amount of class to the laundry room and I can't wait for my sister's reaction when she spies it in there.
Bottle sizes over the last several years have tended to be more uniform and it is now quite easy to exchange the top from one bottle to another.
Why would you want to do this?
There are times that the opening to the tops to bottles are too large or too small for what you need them for. I save a variety of different bottle tops that I clean and put aside. When I find that I have a bottle that is wasting product because the opening is too large I will look through this collection to find something smaller.
I will do the same if I am waiting forever for the product to leave the bottle and look for a top that has a larger opening or a different type of opening.
I always make sure that cleaning product tops are only ever put on other cleaning products and food safe tops are put on food products but I will use them on cleaning products as well.
You can start your own collection of bottle tops and the next time that you are dissatisfied or struggling with a top that just isn't doing it's job then check to see if you have saved something more suitable.
