Foreign Money
I am lucky that I have been able to travel a lot and there are many things that I have learned that have saved our family a lot of money over the years. I just got back from Italy and here are just three quick travel tips that I would like to share with you.

Pig Latin In a foreign country if you are in a situation that you want to speak privately to another member of your group but can't - speak in Pig Latin. While a lot of locals that deal with tourist speak very good English they just can't comprehend Pig Latin. This can help you if one of the people you are with is bargaining and you want to suggest for them to walk away or go lower or if  you feel someone is trying to cheat your group and you want to walk away.

Transportation Before you go check out the transportation from the train station or airport to the hotel. If you travel light it can save you a small fortune if you can go by public transit. If you travel with a lot of bags check your options. You would think that a shuttle bus would be cheaper than a taxi but not if you are travelling with a family, the shuttle charges you per person while the taxi charges you for the ride.

Dress well  Such a simple thing and it can really change your whole vacation. I am not talking about trying to dress like a fashion model I mean dressing nicely for the situation that you are in. Why people wear sloppy t shirts and shorts while they are traveling on vacation is beyond me. (They must look horrible in their vacation photos) I know that they want to be comfortable but some of the clothes I saw tourists wear was absolutely unbelievable. Fadded out, pulled out t-shirts, baggy shorts and fanny packs in a beautiful museum- did they think that they were there to clean the place? Even the gardening staff was dressed better than they were.

If you want to be seated at the nicer tables in restaurants, have the concierge take time with you or get great advise from the locals on where to shop or interesting places to go, dress nice, people will make the effort if they think you are worth it.
